Sydnor Thompson

Sydnor Thompson, born in Baltimore and raised in Virginia, discusses his studies Syracuse for undergraduate and legal education at Harvard Law School. Before attending law school Thompson was drafted into the U.S. Army and served during World War II. After law school he was awarded a Fulbright scholarship to study law at Manchester University in England. He practiced for three and a half years at firm in New York and then, in 1954, became one of the first attorneys to join the Parker Poe firm in Charlotte. He practiced as a trial attorney. Thompson speaks in this interview about several of his more memorable cases and about his interest in the arts.
