Description:

William Scarborough, Jr., born in 1923 in Charlotte, attended Wake Forest University for undergraduate as well as for law school. He also served as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division of the U.S. Army during World War II. He practiced as an attorney in Charlotte, starting with his father and focusing on real property law. He also served as county solicitor while in Mecklenburg County and was later appointed to the judicial bench. He served until his retirement in 1992 and subsequently returned to private practice.
